Very interesting talk from Tony Schwartz on energy renewal and time for a bunch of people who work in creative industries. Worth watching all the way through.

via swissmiss + someone else I’ve forgotten:  sorry!

The implications were clear, soon Western culture would morph into a giant rave where we would find ourselves dancing to tribal techno with an dreadlocked Austrian backpacker/Yoga practitioner named Helga.
Great article from Mark Sayers on what he sees as The Myth of Modernists Christians vs Postmodernist Christians.

Blue Like Jazz.

Loved the book.  Really hope the movie is as good - the trailer suggests it might be!

There is a fun story about how it nearly got axed and then was saved by fans.

The King James Trust are running an interesting project to 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.

Their plan is to get  the whole translation onto youtube and they’ve already got a long way there.

As you might expect for the KJV,  a lot of the readers are establishment figures, for example Boris JohnsonPrince Charles and Richard Dawkins, but the trust are also asking anyone who wants to record a passage of their choice.  I would have gone for this one had it not been taken.

I like the story of the KJV’s history and I also like the interest there is in it again. It wouldn’t be my first choice of translation to read,  but listening to the YouTube readers is very compelling.  It reminds me how beautiful this translation is and what a precious resource we have in the Bible!

Very interesting article in todays independent. A different side to “young adult culture”. Any thoughts?

I went to my little boy’s playtime group this morning because they were doing the big toddle.  One of the other dad’s there makes these beautiful cigar box guitars.  If you follow through to his site you can hear their unique sound.

I’ve not been tempted to buy a stringed instrument for a very long time, but I really like these.

Our friend Jo has recently launched this collaborative blog exploring faith, culture, and life.  As the title suggests its just one for the girls but I want to big it up.  A lot of the contributers are friends and one of them is my beautiful and wise wife.  Her stuff is here.
